The first Francofolies festival took place in 1985, thanks to its founder, Jean-Louis Foulquier, a lover of French songs.
Since then, the festival is committed to make known and broadcast new French and Francophone songs and music to a wide audience.
For 31 years, this festival brings every year in July more than 110,000 visitors for 5 days of shows, on 9 different stages, in one of the most beautiful cities in France.
It is also an organisation with different cultural and educational activities. For example, the Chantier des Francos enables emerging artists to improve their stage performance, to prepare themselves in the music world, and to help them professionally. As of Franco Educ, the Francofolies commits itself with teachers to develop the practice of songs for young people.
