A partnership for the replanting of trees in the Marais Poitevin

Since 2023, several service providers have signed a sponsorship agreement with the Marais Poitevin Regional Natural Park and the Heritage Foundation (“Fondation du Patrimoine“) to contribute to the replanting of trees in the Marais Poitevin. It is a thoughtful initiative in which they have chosen to get involved.

50 cents per boat or bike rental

Following a trial year with four embarkation points, new businesses are now eager to become partners of the Park and the Heritage Foundation (“Fondation du Patrimoine”). To date, 9 companies have joined the initiative. Whenever a visitor rents a boat without a guide or a bike from one of these businesses, 50 cents will be donated to the Park through the Heritage Foundation. The rental price for visitors does not increase; it is covered by the partner organization.

Planting starting in 2024.

This agreement is effective starting this spring, for a duration of three years. The funds raised during the 2024 season will be used to finance tree planting initiatives led by the Park next year, in the areas covered by the participating businesses.

An initiative to follow

Through this initiative, these service providers demonstrate their commitment to an exceptional and evolving landscape; everyone can contribute to the collective effort and the preservation of this unique landscape. For visitors, staying in the Marais Poitevin offers a sensory experience of the area, an ideal immersion to appreciate the tranquility and beauty of the landscape that must be preserved.

This commitment is encouraging, and the Park invites all service providers who wish to get involved to join the movement.

Other projects exist to help with replanting in the Marais Poitevin

For several years, the Park and the Heritage Foundation have been working through various actions for the landscape of the Marais Poitevin. You too can participate by:

– Donating to renew the tree cover without needing a boat or bike ride, that’s possible too! Everyone can contribute to this collective effort while benefiting from a tax reduction through the Heritage Foundation (“Fondation du Patrimoine”). Visit the Park’s website to make a donation: https://www.fondation-patrimoine.org/les-projets/les-arbres-tetards-du-marais-poitevin

– Or by purchasing a puzzle, with the proceeds from the sale being donated to support tree planting (28 €). You can find them at the following locations:
